Don’t Cook: Eat Chicken!

Enjoy a break from cooking and go to the Sandy Plains Chick fil-A night on Thursday, Nov. 19th. Don’t forget to identify yourself as a Mountain View family when placing your drive-through order. When dining in, please mention your Mountain View affiliation, and then drop your receipt in the red box at the counter. Proceeds go to the fifth-grade class gift and graduation ceremony.

School Cookbook Ready in December

The first-ever Mountain View cookbook contains 400 recipes and will be available by year-end for $12. Thank you to parents, students, teachers, and other staffers who submitted recipes.

Fun-Filled Fifth-Grade Friday the 13th

Our next fifth-grade fun night takes place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13th in the Mountain View cafeteria. While watching a movie with classmates, students will be able to purchase pizza, popcorn, and soft drinks. Cost of admission will be a canned good or food item to be donated to a local food bank for Thanksgiving.

T-Shirt Design Winner Announced

Congratulations to Ebele from Ms. Isaac’s class, whose winning T-shirt design will be printed on the Class of 2010 T-shirt. Her entry was chosen among finalists from all five fifth-grade classes. Ebele’s T-shirt design will soon be on display in the fifth-grade hallway. Thanks to parent Caelie Rucker for heading up the creation of the T-shirt for the class.

Fall Festival Food Sales a Success

Thank you, parents and students, for donating your time to serve food during the Oct. 2 Fall Festival. Our sales efforts were outstanding, and we couldn't have done it without you. A special thanks to parent/custodian Mark Cash who helped with setup and cleanup for the event.

Class Gift Meeting Takes Place

An hour-long meeting was held Oct. 27 in the Media Center conference room to discuss possibilities for the fifth-grade gift to the school. Details concerning the gift will follow in December’s The Pride of Mountain View newsletter.

It’s Fun to Play at the YMCA

Fifth graders will head to the Cherokee County YMCA on Nov. 4 for a team-building field trip.
